Earlier this week I was speaking to a couple of girls who introduced me to Précision Nail Lacquer, the high gloss, fast-drying nail colour brand from Lamoon Beauty. The Précision brand is only now being rolled out in the UK after years of cult status in the USA, and is set to challenge OPI in the pro quality nail polish market.

The photo above is of the very juicy Colour FX Summer 2010 collection that they gave to me to try. From left to right, Wait a Melon for Me (CO2), Surfin’ in Maliblue (CO5), Honey Dew This (CO4), The Next “It” Girl (CO1), Pink with a Wink (CO6), Pur-fect FX (CO3).

These are some seriously nice nail polishes! Lamoon Beauty have clearly put a lot of thought into the bottle as well as the formulation. Précision Nail Lacquer is formulated to be long-lasting and chip-resistant, as well as proudly free from toluene, formaldehyde and DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate).

I’m not sure why other brands don’t do this, but the handle has been designed with grooves for an easier grip. The brush strands are extra silky, and I love the way they give perfectly even coverage with no streaks.

Today, I wore the flamingo pink shade, Pink with a Wink, on my toes (just the three toes that showed through my peep-toe boots, mind). And on my hands, I wore the beautiful and super trendy coral shade, Wait a Melon for Me.

I just asked my boyfriend “Do you think like my nails” to which he replied “They’re so glossy! Why don’t you quote me. It’ll add more credibility.” Hmmm…

Here is an appalling photo I took (not proper “sunlight” photos I’m afraid) of Wait a Melon for Me. I am wearing two coats with no base product. With the artificial lighting and bad photography, the shade looks orange, but in real life it’s a really, really nice coral with pink tones… like the second photo down which I took from the web.

Below is what the colour looks like in real life (and what it should’ve looked like above if I was a better photographer). Perfect coral or what??

Oh, and the best thing about Précision Nail Lacquer? It’s £5.99 for a whopping 16ml! The first thing I said when I picked up a bottle was “wow it’s massive!”. Look at it compared to a Le Métier de Beauté nail polish which is £10 for 4ml… awww baby nail polish…

You can purchase any of the (currently) 117 Précision Nail Lacquer shades from parksideprecision.com, where you’ll also find a range of Précision nail treatment products. I like the sound of the Ridgefiller.

  1. The price is amazing. I like the sound of the brush and bottle design too, and I’m a sucker for a nice coral. Will add these to my “to check out” list.

  2. Thanks for all your comments! Yes, I’d definitely recommend checking out the range – I keep getting comments on my nails (e.g. “are they your own nails??”), and a couple of coats ends up lasting ages on my nails!!
